Organisations seeking formal collaboration with JBI can apply to become a JBIC Entity via [jbigeo@adelaide.edu.au](mailto:jbic@adelaide.edu.au) .

The GEO Administration Officer will send through to the applying organisation a Foreign Compliance online form. All applying organisations outside of Australia must undergo a [Foreign Compliance Review](https://www.adelaide.edu.au/legalandrisk/compliance/foreign-compliance-obligations) (FECR) which forms part of the Australian Government’s national security agenda, of which The University of Adelaide and JBI must comply.

Prior to conducting the FECR a review by the Global Engagement Office of the applying body will be conducted to ensure that the applying organisation does not contradict JBI’s conflict of interest (i.e. a pharmaceutical company).

***Note: ****In the event that a proposed Entity’s host institution is deemed ineligible during the University of Adelaide Foreign Engagement Compliance Review, discussions with regards to JBIC membership will not proceed. There may also be circumstances where certain restrictions may be placed on prospective partners if the FECR deems it a requirement of proceeding with a partnership agreement i.e. limitations on becoming a University of Adelaide Title Holder or Visiting Fellow.*

Once a FECR has been approved, the GEO Administration Officer will invite the interested parties to a quarterly information session.

After the online meeting the Director of Global Relations will decide if it is appropriate to continue the application process. The GEO Administrator will then send to the party;

·         A JBIC Entity Application Form

·         Request the CV’s of Directors and Deputy Directors (a few pages will suffice)

·         **A sample** of a Legal Agreement template

·         **A sample **of a JBIC Entity Administration form

**LEGAL AGREEMENT**

JBI request that the applying organisation send the sample Legal Agreement to the necessary person/s within their host organisation **for review ONLY**.

**Sending the Legal Agreement is not a formal offer to join the JBIC.**

The signing of a Legal Agreement between a host organisation and JBI – The University of Adelaide can be time consuming and may delay the establishing your JBIC Entity. As such we request that an initial review occurs prior to submitting an application. The GEO can respond to any questions with regards to the Legal Agreement your host organisation may have, email [jbigeo@adelaide.edu.au](mailto:jbic@adelaide.edu.au) with your enquiries, or request an online meeting.

**JBIC ENTITY ADMINISTRATION FORM**

A JBIC Entity Administration Form will be provided **for review ONLY. **We request that you review the JBIC Entity Administration Form and email the GEO with any questions you may have, do not complete this form until your application has been formally accepted.
