JBI courses are offered on behalf of JBI and the University of Adelaide and it is therefore important that the reputation and standing of JBI and the University of Adelaide are maintained at all times. To maintain consistency in the content of courses and in the teaching and learning processes employed, all short, non-award courses are developed by a course team; consist of a “package” of materials; and are peer reviewed by external experts and the trainer networks. JBI staff and registered trainers all facilitate teaching and learning in the same way through the use of the approved course materials. Thus, teaching and learning relies less on the individual characteristics of those who teach; and more on the delivery of content using a common approach. In accordance with the overall entity collaborating agreements of which accredited trainers operate under, accredited trainers are *required* to:

- notify JBI of the successful completion of the program and request accreditation/certification of the participant

- review participant feedback and address any constructive feedback with JBI facilitators or JBC collaborating entity director
- successfully complete any re-accreditation activities as proposed by JBI
- ensure participants who have completed JBI Short Courses subsequently complete the online course evaluations

- attend the annual trainer’s meeting (or ensure there is a representative from their entity present to report on their behalf)

Accredited trainers, in being granted approval to become approved providers of JBI education and training, are *expected* to:

- demonstrate detailed working knowledge of the JBI PACES software
- ensure that the program includes all of the relevant software user exercises, conducted in accordance with the training materials
- maintain a high level of professionalism
- maintain their knowledge and skills in teaching and in the content of JBI programs
- promote JBI and other evidence-based practice groups
- promote JBI entities and groups
- promote the JBI Model of EBHC
- encourage participants to conduct JBI Implementation Projects using JBI PACES
- encourage participants to submit to the JBI Evidence Implementation

As described above, to remain registered, JBI trainers must conduct the EITP at least once per year and successfully complete trainer re-accreditation activities every two years or as stipulated by JBI (for example training and accreditation knowledge assessment may be required if JBI changes its course, course format, software or introduces new software). These activities may consist of a multiple choice questionnaire, participation in an online forum, or the attendance/ viewing of a webinar/educational videos.

In some circumstances, these requirements and expectations may not be met by registered trainers. To remain as a registered trainer, a case must be made for why trainers should retain their registration to [jbieducation@adelaide.edu.au](mailto:jbieducation@adelaide.edu.au) (i*.e. parent leave for not conducting the EITP once per year*).
