**The EITP TtT Program**

***Introduction***

The JBI TtT program is designed to enable JBI Entities and Group staff to become registered trainers and to deliver the JBI EITP. The demand for JBI training has increased and expanding training capacity by registering JBI trainers has assisted us in meeting this demand and generates opportunities for health scientists and professionals to improve health outcomes by offering education and training in evidence-based practice near to their own locality. The program also creates opportunities for Entities and Groups to generate revenue; to raise their profile locally; and to build partnerships in their jurisdiction.

In registering trainers, JBI permits Entities and Groups to trade on JBI’s well-established brand and to offer programs that represent considerable investment by JBI. As such, JBI is required to ensure that the courses taught on its behalf meet the standards associated with our brand; that JBI trainers have sufficient knowledge, understanding and skill to facilitate learning; and that the JBI brand is neither unacknowledged nor brought into disrepute.

The EITP TtT program consists of two parts:

- Part 1 – An online course and assessment designed to test participant’s knowledge of the course content and ability to use the software
- Part 2 – A face-to-face teaching assessment designed to assesses trainers’ ability to effectively teach the course content and use of the software to others

Part 1

Part 1 comprises of an approximately 20-hour pre-course program and an online pre-course assessment that must be completed satisfactorily no later than two weeks before commencement of the Part 2. The pre-course program focuses on the content and processes of the EITP and will change in line with any methodological modification to the EITP itself. The online pre-course assessment will seek to establish that the participant has a sound understanding of the content and teaching and learning processes of the EITP. Progression to Part 2 of the TtT program will be limited to those who successfully complete Part 1.

Part 2

Part 2 of the EITP TtT program consists enitrely of assessed micro-teaching activities. During the program, participants will be required to satisfactorily deliver three sessions from week 1 and week 2 of the program (including the Clinical Leadership day) with only minimal prior notice. The Train-the-Trainer program will continue to be facilitated by the Executive Director, Directors and senior staff from JBI offices in Adelaide. Senior staff from JBI will be required to verify that, in their opinion and based on the performance of the student Trainer during the TtT program, the student trainer is sufficiently knowledgeable and skilled to deliver the program.

Participants present and record the allocated sessions to either a live audience or a remote audience using platforms such as Zoom (*refer to your particular course requirements*). When using video recordings, these must include participant participation and the slides presented. The video recordings can then be uploaded onto the Learning Management System (CANVAS) for grading by JBI's trainers.

Prior to registering for the JBI EITP Train the Trainer it is advised potential trainers read the **JBI EITP Train the Trainer Check List** below to ensure commitments can be met during the program.
